Warriors host first NRL final at Eden Park
Warriors will play Newcastle in their first ever NRL final at Eden Park on Sunday at 4.05pm AEST.
The NRL has confirmed the Warriors will play Newcastle at Eden Park next Sunday for their elimination final, a historic first NRL playoff match for the club at the larger venue. Eden Park holds 50,000 people and is more modern than Mt Smart Stadium, where the Warriors preferred to play.
The Warriors last played at Eden Park in 2014 and beat Mt Smart a sold-out crowd of 26,131 in their qualifying final loss to the Dolphins 26-16. Warriors face injury concerns heading into the clash, losing strike centre Leka Halasima to a hamstring injury in the warm-up before the Dolphins match, while prop Jackson Ford limped off with an ankle issue.
