Iran conveys three conditions for ending war with US
Iran will end the war if the US releases seized assets, lifts its naval blockade, and halts fighting on all fronts.
Iran's security council chief Mohsen Rezaei told al-Jazeera that his country has conveyed three conditions to mediators for ending the war with the US. The message went through Qatar.
Iran is awaiting President Trump's response. The first condition is ending the war on all fronts.
The second is releasing assets the US seized from Iran. The third is lifting the US naval blockade of Iranian ports.
In June, both countries signed a 14-point framework agreement to negotiate final peace within 60 days. That period passed without agreement or extension.
The Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world's traded oil moves, remains contested, with Iranian forces continuing to attack ships.
