Three police officers jump into River Torrens to rescue fleeing man
Three police officers rescued a 22-year-old who jumped into the River Torrens while fleeing a street fight in Adelaide's CBD.
Police responded to a fight involving a group of men on Hindley St in Adelaide's CBD about 5am on Saturday. As officers arrived, one man ran, and police lost sight of him briefly.
CCTV cameras then captured him jumping into the River Torrens. Officers rushed to the riverbank and found him struggling in the water, calling for help.
Three police officers entered the river and held the man above the surface while other patrols helped pull them all to safety. The Blair Athol man was taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
The officers were checked by paramedics at the scene.
