Arrests follow stolen RAAF vehicle recovery in Wadeye
Police arrested three men in Wadeye after locating a Ford Ranger stolen from RAAF Base Darwin.
Northern Territory Police arrested three men in Wadeye yesterday following a theft of a security vehicle from RAAF Base Darwin on Monday. A man allegedly broke into the high-security base, assaulted an Australian Defence Force member, and stole the white Ford Ranger.
The ute was then used in a stealing spree across Greater Darwin, including theft of tools from Palmerston and theft of fuel from a service station in Coolalinga. Police spotted the vehicle on the Stuart Highway and started a pursuit.
They later stopped the pursuit near Palmerston after losing sight of it. Detectives provided information to local police, who located and arrested the three men in Wadeye, more than 400 kilometres away.
The stolen ute was recovered there. All three remain in custody and face multiple charges related to the stolen vehicle.
