Man charged with shooting after Central Coast attack targets 37-year-old

A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with shooting with intent to murder after a 37-year-old was shot at his home.

The victim was shot in the torso and hand at Berkeley Vale on Wednesday morning around 6am. Emergency crews treated him and flew him to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police treated it as a targeted attack. Officers from the Raptor Squad arrested Bison Zounis at Gosford train station the next morning.

Police also allegedly found cocaine and cannabis, and seized a Glock pistol and ammunition from a Penrith address. Zounis was charged with multiple offences and remains in custody pending his November court date.

Why it mattersA targeted shooting shows gang or organised-crime violence is still active on the Central Coast. The quick arrest suggests police anti-bikie tactics are working to prevent further violence.
