Perth approves $10 million Fast Eddys replacement with 64 hotel rooms
Perth's planning panel unanimously approved a $10 million development to replace the long-closed Fast Eddys site with tourist accommodation.
A seven-storey mixed-use building will replace Perth's vacant Fast Eddys site on Murray Street in the CBD. The $10 million project will have 64 tourist rooms.
Each has a bed, kitchenette and bathroom. A ground-floor café is also planned.
The panel hopes it will serve Reuben sandwiches to honour the late-night venue that closed in 2019. Most rooms will have one bedroom, with level seven containing two-bedroom units.
About 14 rooms will have balconies or outdoor terraces. The development will include reception, gym and dining areas.
Panel members backed the proposal as a way to activate the unused site and support the nearby retail and nightlife district.
