UK flights hit by technical glitch affecting 25,000 passengers
A technical problem at UK air traffic control disrupted flights across three regions. It was the second major failure in two weeks.
NATS manages UK airspace. On Monday, a technical problem grounded or delayed flights in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England.
The problem hit Manchester, Belfast, Edinburgh and Belfast City airports the hardest. One airline said more than 25,000 passengers were affected.
NATS said it fixed the problem but delays would likely go on throughout the day. A software problem two weeks earlier had forced the cancellation of over 2,000 flights.
This raised calls for Martin Rolfe to quit. Ryanair said he should quit right away.
EasyJet called for firm action to stop repeated failures. The UK government owns 49 per cent of NATS.
