Auric Mining strikes high-grade gold beyond planned Munda pit in WA
Auric Mining found high-grade gold 100 metres beyond its Munda pit in Western Australia.
Auric Mining has struck impressive high-grade gold results at its Munda deposit near Widgiemooltha in Western Australia, suggesting the resource could grow beyond the current pit design. A 4-metre intercept running at 10.49 grams per tonne was found roughly 100 metres west of the planned open pit.
Close to the surface, the company also found a 15-metre zone grading 5.56 grams per tonne from just 6 metres down, including a richer 3-metre section at 19.30 grams per tonne. Other near-surface hits included 4 metres at 19.34 grams per tonne and 9 metres at 7.82 grams per tonne.
Auric says these results support expanding the resource along strike. The work is part of a substantial drilling program aimed at de-risking development ahead of a planned mine restart in 2027.
A starter pit at Munda previously produced 8,886 ounces of gold and outperformed predictions by 46 per cent, selling for $43.5 million after costs. The company holds about 192,000 ounces still in the ground and has assembled almost $38 million in cash to fund expansion.
