Child killed, two fighting for life after Blue Mountains stabbing
Child under five dies; two others critical after stabbing in Blue Mountains.
Members of the public found three children and a woman with stab wounds inside a vehicle at Valley Heights in the Blue Mountains shortly before 1pm on Sunday. One child was already dead at the scene.
Witnesses gave first aid to the two survivors while they waited for emergency help. Paramedics treated all three and took them to hospital in critical condition.
Both children had surgery. NSW Police said the woman was thought to be in her 40s.
She had not come to police attention before. Investigators are not seeking anyone else.
The father of all three children was told at work.
