Mother charged with murder of five-year-old in Blue Mountains
A 42-year-old mother has been charged with murdering her five-year-old son; two siblings remain critical.
A mother has been charged with murdering her five-year-old son in the NSW Blue Mountains. The child and two younger siblings, aged one and three, were found with stab wounds in a parked vehicle at Valley Heights on Sunday.
Members of the public administered first aid while calling emergency services. The five-year-old boy died.
His siblings remain in critical but stable condition at Westmead Children's Hospital. The mother was also injured in the incident.
Police allege the stab wounds were self-inflicted. She faces charges of domestic violence-related murder and two counts of domestic violence-related wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
The mother was refused bail and is due in Penrith Local Court on Friday 20 November.
