ADFA cadet hit with 260-plus charges over hidden bathroom camera
Tain Stewart Stephens, 20, now faces 260-plus charges over a hidden camera in an ADFA bathroom. The footage allegedly shows 46 people.
A cadet at the Australian Defence Force Academy appeared in court on 15 September. He faced far more charges than when arrested in May.
Tain Stewart Stephens, 20, was initially charged after a camera was found hidden in a soap dispenser in a women's bathroom. The court heard police had added 181 more charges.
This brought the total to more than 250. The charges include 222 counts of capturing visual data.
They also include 40 counts of having or controlling child abuse material. One count involves using a carriage service to send sexual material without consent.
ACT Policing had 40,000 files to examine. The footage allegedly shows 46 different people.
Stephens lives in Queensland and has pleaded not guilty. The matter was postponed to 24 October.
