North Albury man admits motel assault, faces District Court sentencing
Michael Kennedy, 41, admitted to attacking his ex-partner in her motel room in January and threatening to kill her.
Michael Kennedy entered Albury Local Court via video link from jail to admit assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidation. On January 8, he entered the victim's motel room after she asked him to leave.
Kennedy grabbed her, shoved her face into a pillow, placed a hand on her neck, and punched her multiple times in the face. As he left, he told her he would return with a blade and kill her.
The victim reported the assault to triple zero. Judge Sally McLaughlin committed Kennedy for sentencing before the District Court in Albury, with a date set for November 9, 2026.
A charge of intentional choking was withdrawn.
