Man jailed for stabbing attack that left victim bleeding on dirt road
Kalani Joliffe-Cole, 29, was sentenced after stabbing a man repeatedly in a frenzied attack.
On 8 December 2022, Kalani Joliffe-Cole attacked a man near Uriarra Road west of Canberra. Joliffe-Cole repeatedly stabbed the victim in the head, chest, arms and back.
Joliffe-Cole then drove away, leaving the victim alone on a dirt road. Drivers of two passing cars saw the victim collapse.
One driver provided first aid while the other called Triple Zero. Without their help, the victim would likely have died.
Joliffe-Cole was convicted of intentionally causing serious injury and sentenced on Tuesday. Joliffe-Cole claimed self-defence but the jury rejected this.
