Perth's Elizabeth Quay lights up with free Noongar water show
A towering water screen will project Noongar artist Biara Martin's drawings as a free family show at Perth's Elizabeth Quay this spring.
When the sun sets this spring, Elizabeth Quay will light up with a free water show. The show features the Noongar story of the frog Kooyar.
For the first time, a towering screen will rise from the Swan River to display detailed animations, lights and special effects set to an original soundscape. Local Whadjuk Noongar artist Biara Martin created the animations, blending Aboriginal dreamtime stories with modern landscapes.
The 20-minute show runs on loop and guides viewers through Kooyar's journey across Noongar Boodja. Red-tailed black cockatoo puppets will move through the crowd, and Indigenous dance group Corroboree For Life will perform live.
The show runs September 25 to 28, 7pm to 10pm, with Auslan interpretation available on September 27.
